Process visualization serves this purpose in industrial production plants and processing plants. Visualization systems consist of hardware components that capture details of these processes and pass this information on to other hardware components such as monitors or storage media. The purpose of a process visualization is to detect possible errors in the process in time and to be able to intervene in the process before stoppages or even downtimes bring the production to a standstill.The example of a baking line in a large bakery should illustrate this:The baking line produces a large quantity of rolls per hour. To ensure smooth production, the temperature profile is controlled by a computer. If a change in the setpoint temperature occurs at a point in production that exceeds or falls below a specified limit value, this is immediately reported to the process visualization via sensors. This message is passed on to the operating personnel or an alarm is triggered. Immediate countermeasures by the operating personnel can prevent production downtimes or failures at the same time the values determined are recorded. This enables a later error analysis, so that repeat errors can be avoided.
