Straightening machines are used in particular in sheet metal processing to process unmachined sheets into the desired shape. In addition to sheet metal, expanded metal, aluminium plates, stainless steel sheets, car plates and plates, flat steel, stamped parts, tubes and rods or wire are also processed. The purpose of the straightening machines is the modification of a workpiece by a bending process, which is carried out either in presses and bending devices. Among other things, these presses are used for straightening in the workshop. Straightening machines are available in various designs, e.g. sheet metal straightening machines, parts straightening machines, strip straightening machines, precision straightening and fine straightening machines, roll straightening machines, straightening plants and straightening devices are used in the industry.But also profile straightening machines, straightening machines for tubes and bars or for wire are used either as single straightening machines or in large straightening plants. In addition to the technical specifications, the machines are also distinguished by the number of rollers that cause the deformation: Besides two-roll straightening machines for pipes and bars, there are also six-roll straightening machines for steel pipes, seven-roll straightening machines for pipes with medium thicknesses, nine-roll straightening machines for medium material thicknesses and ten-roll straightening machines with electronic control (CNC). The possibilities of forming a workpiece with a straightening machine are extremely versatile: Edges, curves and bends in all variations are possible depending on requirements and application. This makes it easy to create shafts for corrugated sheets or curves for rain gutters and drainage pipes. The field of application of straightening machines can be found particularly in the metal processing industry, i.e. always there where sheets have to be shaped into special shapes. However, simple straightening machines are also used in the roofing trade, for example, to individually and precisely shape sheets for roofs, etc.
