Feed levelers are machines that are also referred to by the synonym of feed machines or feed units. However, this synonym is not always correct in its use, as a feed leveler may also be used to determine and program the direction of the actual feed machine or to keep a feed machine on the correct course. After all, the feed machines are usually roller systems which could differ from time to time, which would impair the entire process and, in the worst case, lead to the operation being aborted. After their use, they are usually converted for another similar purpose. With regard to the alignment of roller movements and their feed systems, it is also conceivable that the feed leveling machine is a system that performs motion control and displays or even automatically corrects any deviations that may occur.
