According to this, an eccentric press is a technical working tool that is mostly used in industry for stamping, embossing, cutting or bending work. These presses are mechanically driven and have a small press travel. Eccentric presses are available as single-column presses, double-column presses and double-column presses. Furthermore, there are construction methods of these presses for the workshop for punching or forming workpieces. A flywheel driven by a motor is accelerated and delivers its kinetic energy via a clutch and brake combination to the ram, which finally executes the stroke. Essentially, the area of application of the presses depends on whether the press is considered"safe", because only then is insertion work within the working area permitted. To be considered safe, an eccentric press requires at least one technical safety device, e.g. two-hand control or electro-sensitive protective equipment (ESPE), as well as an"upper dead point control", force-locking coupling and so-called press safety valves (PSV). Mostly eccentric presses are used in large series or mass production. Depending on the tool used, they can perform cutting, punching or bending work. However, limited by the usually rather small stroke, they are only suitable for rather flat parts. For example, a combined punching tool and bending tool can be used to produce wall connections from a flat sheet of steel to which blinds or awnings can be attached, or angle pieces for attaching cabinets and shelves to walls. The use of complex, multi-stage column tools and insertion work on safe presses also makes technically more complex products such as housing covers or entire small machine parts possible.
