Precision machining is a manufacturing technology that uses high-precision machine tools and cutting tools to micro-cut workpieces in order to obtain extremely high dimensional accuracy, shape accuracy and surface quality. Its core objective is to control machining errors at the micron (μm) or even nanometre (nm) level, and it is widely used in high-end fields where precision is critical.

Spindle system and machine structure
Spindle requirements: Precision machining requires spindles with extremely high rotational smoothness and low vibration. Modern ultra-precision machine tools often use hydrostatic or air-floating bearing technology to achieve nano-scale rotary accuracy.
Machine rigidity and thermal stability: high rigidity structure and good temperature control system is the key to ensure the machining accuracy, often choose granite or low coefficient of thermal expansion of the materials used to make the bed, supplemented by constant temperature control system.
Cutting parameters
Cutting speed and spindle speed: in precision cutting, cutting speed (V_c) and spindle speed (n) need to be calculated accurately according to the workpiece material, tool diameter and cutting conditions, the formula is often:

Feed rate and depth of cut: Micro cutting requires a very small feed rate and depth of cut, often in the range of 0.01 to 0.1 mm/r, in order to control the cutting force and prevent deformation of the workpiece, while achieving high surface finish.
Tool geometry parameters: tool front angle, back angle, tip radius and other parameters directly affect the cutting force, surface roughness and residual layer thickness. Theoretically, the larger the radius of the tip circle, the smaller the residual height, but too large may lead to vibration and thermal effects, which need to be comprehensively balanced.

1. Basic parameters of the equipment
Processing stroke: The X-axis stroke can reach 200 millimeters, and the distance from the spindle nose to the worktable is 100 millimeters.
Main spindle power: Common configurations include 15 kW and 22 kW, and the appropriate power should be selected according to the material hardness.
Whole machine structure: Some models are made of 304 stainless steel and equipped with guide rails, footrests, and pressure blocks to enhance rigidity.
2. Processing technology and tool selection
Process classification: divided into rough cutting (fast material removal with large cutting tools), medium/semi finishing (transitional processing), and finishing (small step high speed).

3. Cutting parameter settings
Speed and feed: It needs to be adjusted according to the hardness of the material and the type of tool. During precision machining, high speed is required with a small cutting step of 23.
Thermal stability impact: Insufficient preheating of the machine tool may lead to dimensional fluctuations (such as early processing errors of 5-6 threads), and it is necessary to stabilize the accuracy through a thermal machine.
4. Control system and operation
Program transfer: Supports transferring G-code from a USB flash drive, and the operation process includes standardized steps such as tool alignment and startup.
Emergency stop and limit: The external button can be configured with emergency stop, jog, and high/low speed switching functions. The limit signal needs to be designed to be normally closed to ensure safety.
