For soft materials such as paper, cardboard, rubber, foams, PVC, Plexiglas, leather, textiles and food, the energy of the fine water jet is sufficient to separate the material. For the processing of hard and brittle materials, such as metals, glass, stone or composite materials, an abrasive agent is added to the water jet. The compressed water flows through the opening of the sapphire nozzle and is mixed with the abrasive in a mixing chamber. At the outlet, the water-abrasive jet is re-focused in a cylindrical focusing nozzle. With the aid of high-pressure water jet cutting technology (HDW cutting technology), the cutting and processing of a wide variety of materials on one system is economically possible
