Rudolf Kiesewetter, who gave his name to the Excelsior factory Rudolf Kiesewetter in Leipzig, founded the first measuring instrument factory in Germany in 1908. In 1942, the factory was destroyed, but rebuilt after the end of the war with great and tireless efforts.
Mr. Kiesewetter died in 1958. In the same year, the company became a semi-state-owned enterprise. In the former GDR, Kiesewetter developed into the sole manufacturer for a range of measurement technology products. The main products included switch panel meters and exposure meters. Another focus was on devices for monitoring, converting and recording electrical and physical quantities.

For 25 years, ABASYS has been an IT service provider, development partner, training provider and supplier of hardware and software in central Germany. On 4,500 m² of floor space in Bitterfeld-Wolfen, a 46-strong team of graphic designers, software and IT specialists, specialist lecturers, educators and trainers work on orders from business, the public sector and private customers.
ABASYS successfully combines what seemingly can only succeed separately: be it software development with a focus on hybrid office solutions and databases or the educational work in measures of vocational preparation, the installation, licensing and maintenance of hardware and software or the training of corporate customers in IT and management seminars. Be it the implementation of measures of the European Social Fund or highly specialized graphics for large companies. Different business areas come together under one roof and form a treasure trove of interdisciplinary knowledge that we are happy to share with our clients.
Since our founding in 1995, we have emphasized resilient quality management and are successfully audited annually according to DIN ISO 9001:2015. Since 2018, we have also been certified according to TISAX, an information security testing and exchange mechanism specifically for focus customers in the automotive industry.
