Machine for length measurement of sheathed round cables in the diameter range up to max. 50 mm and for sheathed flat cables with widths up to max. 30 mm. The measuring system consists of a pair of caterpillars between which the material to be measured passes. The necessary frictional connection to the measured material is generated by the dead weight of the upper part of the track. One deflection wheel of the lower caterpillar pair is designed as a measuring wheel and is positively connected to a pulse generator (50 cm pulses per revolution). The length-related pulses generated by the incremental encoder are displayed by a counter from the Hengstler company, type Signo GLZ P (approval mark 1.3/94.07 of 29.09.94). The preselection counter can be supplied either in a housing or mounted on the meter counter.
