The rubber specimen is put into the closed or almost closed mold cavity, the lower part of the mold cavity is moved back and forth with small linear or oscillating angle, so that the specimen produces shear strain, and the reaction torque of the specimen to the mold cavity is measured, the size of this torque depends on the shear modulus of the rubber material, and the specimen's shear modulus increases in the process of vulcanization, and the real-time computer records the curve of the torque versus the time, i.e., the vulcanization curve.
