Capacitive sensors work contactless, non-reactive and contactless. Due to their high response sensitivity and the ability to detect both electrically conductive and electrically non-conductive objects, the sensors are used in a wide range of applications. Levels of liquids or bulk solids can also be detected with the sensors. In addition to position measurement, overflow protection, dry-running protection of pumps and leakage detection are therefore also important areas of application.
- Capacitve sensors are used for the detection of various materials e. g. paper, plastic, wood).
- Non-Ferrous Metal Sensors IBD - Non-contact detection of non-ferrous metals. Selective behaviour
Detection - Identification - Safeguarding - Controlling – Monitoring
Non-contact sensors (proximity switches, inductive, capacitive and ultrasonic sensors) are used for precision sensing of dynamic motions. Klaschka "All Metal" Sensors and Pulse Sensors are specially designed for very high speeds and challenging applications with switching frequencies higher than 10 kHz.
In combination with measurement relays and controllers, non-contact identification (RFID) and tamper-proof safety switches with extremely large switching distances (safety and security) ensure reliable process steps in plant and machinery.
Klaschka offers a wide range of Double Blank Detectors for sheet detection and thickness measurement in the metal-forming industries. The universal BDK-Doublesheet-Detector-system is firmly established in the automotive industry. For applications that do not need this functionality, there are lower-cost systems of Double Sheet Detectors, Doublesheet Controllers and Sheet Thickness Sensors. These are used in many fields when handling and processing metal and metal-coated materials to avoid damage and downtime.

Balluff is a medium-sized company. Family-run for four generations, it was founded in Neuhausen on the Filder near Stuttgart and has grown into a world-oriented, leading global player. It is a company with tradition and customer relationships established over years, which acts simultaneously as an important partner in innovations and as a pacesetter for its customers.
Our company opened up to the global market very early on. Today, Balluff is no longer just at home in Neuhausen, but also has a presence in Europe, Asia, North and South America, and in all other important markets. We have a presence in 68 countries worldwide. This is so we can understand and assist our customers better and be able to provide them exactly what they need: high-quality sensor, identification and networking solutions as well as software for holistic system solutions in every area of automation.
When it comes to quality we have our own particular ideas. We call it Balluff Quality – a higher standard which goes beyond applicable official standards, not only in production but also in consulting and services.
Our clients also feel that special commitment when we assist them – fulfill their requirements, accept their challenges and develop forward-thinking technologies for them. Because we know that if our clients are perfectly equipped for the future, then so are we.
In 1945, Walter Pepperl and Ludwig Fuchs founded a small radio workshop in Mannheim, Germany, based on the principles of inventiveness, entrepreneurial foresight, and self-reliance. The experience they acquired was transformed into new ideas, and they continued to enjoy developing products for customers. The eventual result was the invention of the proximity switch. This innovation represented the starting point of the company's success story.
Today, Pepperl+Fuchs is known by customers around the world as a pioneer and an innovator in electrical explosion protection and sensor technology. Our main focus is always on your individual requirements: With a passion for automation and groundbreaking technology, we are committed to working in partnership with you now and in the future. We understand the demands of your markets, developing specific solutions, and integrating them into your processes."
Capacitive sensors are designed for non-contact
measurement of displacement, distance and position. Micro-Epsilon capaNCDT
sensors provide extremely stable results to nanometre accuracies and are
ideally suited to high precise measurements on electrically conductive targets
such as metals and semiconductors. This simplified replacement of sensors with
different measuring ranges and the interchange of different capaNCDT
controllers can be easily carried out without any recalibration. A
sensor replacement normally takes around 5 seconds, unlike conventional
systems, which have to be subjected to time-consuming calibration and
linearisation.
- Wear-free and non-contact measurement
- No interfering force on the target
- Robust against run out of electrically conductive material
- Unmatched accuracy and stability
- High bandwidth for fast measurements
