Crack testing system

In place of continuous current, steel parts are magnetized or demagnetized using direct current pulsing. In order to reveal cracks or material separations such as fusing or forging defects, these are ideally sprayed with a fluorescent test media, allowing evaluation under a UV LED test lamp even under daylight conditions per EN ISO 9934-1 and documentation with a digital camera.
Using DC-pulse technology instead of continuous current offers the following advantages:

• High performance of testing devices ( testing current up to 25.000 A)
• Much lower energy consumption
• Compact dimensions of testing devices
• Low weight of testing devices

As an example, some components can be tested for surface cracks and demagnetised using HPT direct current pulse technology:

• Turbine construction: housing, shafts, blades
• Forging: rings, shafts
• Gear construction: housing, gear wheels, shafts
• Engine construction: crankcases, cylinder heads, gear wheels, crankshafts, camshafts, connecting rods
• Mobile crane construction: machine components, steel components, tubular lattice masts
• Large blower construction: impeller blades, impellers, spars, casing
• Off-shore industry: Hydraulic collets, elevator left of over 12 m length can be tested.
• Galvanizing plants: galvanized steel components
• Foundries: Fittings, turbine housings, rotor and guide vanes
• aircraft construction: landing gear, forged parts
• Hydropower plants: Running blades, Pelton wheels with the largest test areas can be tested quickly, safely and economically.
• Shipbuilding: Submarine Pressure Hull
• Wind power stations: Rolling bearing rings, planet carriers, gear rims with internal and external toothing with diameters of up to more than 10 m can be inspected and demagnetized in the crane while suspended.

As a manufacturer of special purpose machines we focus on the automated error control of finished parts. Here we develop solutions for the automotive industry and mechanical manufacturing for the inspection of workpieces, surfaces, bores, cracks, threads and their automatic measurement.
For the qualitative support of internal production, we develop, design and build test stations for turned parts or rolled profile parts. Here our focus is on parts inspection and process monitoring of large series for the automotive industry. As a recognized supplier, we deliver precision parts with a zero defect tolerance. In automated optical inspection stations, the highest qualities are thus achieved. We have equipped the current productions with SPC production test stations, whose data are transferred to a CAQ.
Especially when it comes to solving new types of tasks, we have a network of partners at our side whom we can call in on a topic-related basis and thus expand our own competence on demand. In this way, we develop modular stand-alone solutions with components that can be integrated into and extend existing systems.
For the 100% inspection of synchronizer rings made of brass, steel or sintered metals for automotive transmissions, we developed a complex system for error control of external characteristics. In addition to digital measurement and inspection for completeness, we use a novel solution for magnetic inspection of cracks in the material.
