Core Processing Technologies for Capping & Sealing Machines
Our capping and sealing machines utilize and integrate various core processing technologies, selected based on the cap type, container material, product characteristics, and required sealing integrity:
1. Screw Capping Technology
This is the most common method for applying threaded caps.

• Principle: Caps are fed, oriented, and then applied to the bottle's thread. The key is precise torque application.

• Mechanical Chucks: These use rotating chucks with friction inserts (like rubber or plastic) that grip the cap. Torque is controlled by adjustable clutches (e.g., magnetic, pneumatic) or springs.
• Servo-Driven Chucks: These offer advanced, highly precise, and repeatable torque control via servo motors. This allows for dynamic torque adjustment and real-time feedback, ensuring optimal cap tightness without overtightening or damaging the cap.
• Roller Capping: Caps are applied loosely, then a series of rollers engage the cap, spinning it down onto the bottle threads. This method is often used for higher speeds and certain types of caps.

Advantages: Highly versatile for various screw cap types (plastic, metal, child-resistant), precise torque control prevents cap damage and ensures consistent sealing, and generally high speed.
2. Press-On / Snap-On Capping Technology
Used for caps that are secured by simply pressing them onto the container opening.

• Principle: Caps are placed over the container opening and then pressed down by a mechanism (e.g., pneumatic cylinder, cam-driven press head) until they snap securely into place.
• Advantages: Simple, high-speed application for compatible caps, suitable for various bottles and jars where a threaded closure isn't required.

3. ROPP (Roll-On Pilfer-Proof) Capping Technology
Specifically for aluminum caps that form threads onto the bottle neck and create a tamper-evident band.

• Principle: Unthreaded aluminum caps are placed on the bottle neck. Rotating rollers then reform the cap to create threads matching the bottle's finish, and a separate set of rollers scores and folds the skirt to create the pilfer-proof band.
• Advantages: Provides a tamper-evident seal, excellent for wine, spirits, and some pharmaceutical products, and offers a premium, professional appearance.

4. Induction Sealing Technology
Creates an airtight, hermetic seal for product freshness and tamper evidence.

• Principle: A foil liner within the cap is heated by an electromagnetic field as the capped bottle passes under an induction head. The heated foil melts its polymer coating, bonding it to the rim of the container.
• Advantages: Creates a hermetic, leak-proof, and tamper-evident seal, significantly extends product shelf life, prevents contamination, and is widely used across food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries due to its effectiveness.

5. Heat Sealing Technology
Common for cups, trays, and some pouches using pre-cut lids or roll stock.

• Principle: Heat and pressure are applied to bond a film or foil lid to the rim of a container.
• Advantages: Creates a strong, secure seal, often used for cup filling and sealing machines (yogurt, water, ice cream cups), and can be integrated with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) for enhanced freshness.

6. Crimping Technology
Primarily used for spray pumps, dropper caps, or perfume atomizers where the cap is permanently secured.

• Principle: The cap's skirt or collar is mechanically crimped (rolled or pressed) around the bottle neck's finish, creating a tight, often non-removable, seal.
• Advantages: Provides a robust, tamper-proof seal, common in pharmaceutical (e.g., aluminum caps for vials), cosmetic (perfumes), and some chemical applications where permanent closure is needed.

7. Other Specialized Technologies

• Pump & Trigger Capping: Specialized chucks and often separate feeding systems are required due to the unique shapes and sizes of pump and trigger sprayers. This ensures precise and gentle handling for these complex closures.
• Aseptic/Sterile Sealing: For pharmaceutical and specific food applications, these systems are integrated into aseptic lines to maintain sterility within a controlled environment, crucial for highly sensitive products.
