What are minerals and their functions
Minerals are divided into amounts and trace elements. Depending on the concentration present in the body, a distinction is made between two forms, the building materials and the regulators. Construction materials include calcium and phosphorus as well as magnesium. The control substances contain sodium, potassium and iron as well as chlorine. Phosphorus is involved in the formation of bones and teeth and also has the task of regulating the acid-base balance. Minerals are therefore used to ensure different organic processes.

If the intake of different minerals via the food is not sufficient, vitamins or other mineral-containing products can be consumed as food supplements in pill form. However, the consumer should obtain information from a competent source. Eating too much mineral nutrients does not necessarily have to be good.
