One speaks of dolomite when the limestone rock contains magnesium in addition to calcium.
If the carbon dioxide is expelled from this rock by adding heat, dolomite quicklime is formed. Burnt lime is supplied by Rheinkalk KDI under the brand name Oxyfertil®  marketed.
dolomite quicklime are available from Rheinkalk KDI with magnesium contents of up to 35 % MgO. From a content of 7 % MgO, the limes may be called magnesium quicklimes.
The magnesium content in the fertilising lime fulfils a double function: on the one hand, it acts as a basic component for buffering soil acids, on the other hand plant-available magnesium for the magnesium supply of the crops is supplied at very low cost.Burnt limes react directly with the soil water and are unique in their effect for a quick pH value increase and for a quick structural stabilization of the soil (as e.g. often used in face limeing);
