Engine test benches are used for testing and associated test runs of a wide variety of engine technology. This involves testing electrical, hydraulic and combustion systems. During such a process, the speed and torque of the motor and thus its power are normally calculated. Therefore, one generally speaks of a performance test facility. If a more thorough measurement is necessary, for example of fuel consumption or noise, the term test bench is more common.
