Deep-draw vacuum packaging machines are used in commercial and industrial food processing companies for the serial packaging of sensitive goods such as meat or sausage products. In contrast to vacuum chamber machines, which are used for individual packaging, these packaging machines do not work with a vacuum chamber, as this would be too time-consuming and would only allow a low working cycle per minute. A thermoforming vacuum packaging machine operates with a tunnel vacuum that is constantly maintained during production. The material to be packaged is placed in a bottom tray or bottom film made of thermoplastic material and then enters the vacuum tunnel. Here, a top film is placed on the lower shell, which is connected to the lower shell by the existing vacuum. Finally, the vacuum-packed packaging is heat-sealed or pressure-sealed and cut. The number of cycles can be considerably increased by omitting a closed vacuum chamber. Depending on requirements, the machine can, if this option is possible in the device used, also supply the packaged goods with a so-called protective atmosphere. Instead of creating a vacuum in the packaging, a gas such as nitrogen is added, which displaces the oxygen that is harmful to meat and sausage. This further increases the shelf life of the packaged goods. The thermoforming vacuum packaging machine is mostly used in industrial companies that have specialized in the processing of meat and sausage products. The thermoforming vacuum packaging machine can be part of a production line consisting of a cutting machine, an insertion belt and the final thermoforming vacuum packaging machine.
