Battery-powered strapping tools are more costly to purchase than manual strapping tools, however, they break even very quickly with a certain number of strappings per day. The reason is that one not only saves the required seals but can also work much more quickly, thus saving time and literally money. With battery-powered strapping tools the strapping ribbon does not have to be fed through a seal which in turn must be inserted into the tool. Here both ribbon ends are inserted into the tool one on top of the other, then they both get tensioned within seconds at the push of a button and welded.
There seems to be a great variety among battery-powered strapping tools, however, at a closer look one finds that it almost always the same type of tool all made by one manufacturer (Orgapack) which are sold in different colors and under different names on the market. For example are manufactured the Orgapack OR-T 250 in blue, Strapex STB 70 in yellow, Cyclop CMT 250 in red etc. -- nevertheless, they are all the same tool. Only the Signode BXT2 has a differently designed battery which allows much more ergonomical handling than with the other tools while the battery itself is better protected.
