Plastic films are thin layers of polymer materials that are widely used in areas such as packaging, agriculture and construction. Depending on the resin used, plastic films can be made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS) and other materials. These films are characterized by their lightness, flexibility, transparency, water resistance and resistance to acids and alkalis, and offer effective protection against moisture and dust and serve to preserve freshness and insulate against heat.
In the packaging sector, plastic films are often used for packaging food, pharmaceuticals and everyday objects in order to provide protection and extend shelf life. In agriculture, plastic films are used as mulch and greenhouse films to increase yields, maintain soil moisture and prevent the growth of weeds. The production of plastic films mainly involves processes such as blow molding, calendering, stretching and casting.
