Polystyrene (short form: SB) is a technical plastic (thermoplastic) which is very easy to process and has a relatively low weight of 1.05 g/cm³. The moisture absorption of polysterol is 0.1%, the modulus of elasticity is relatively low at 1,700 N/mm², although the plastic gives a very hard subjective impression, and the material allows a very high surface finish.
Thicknesses Polystyrene sheets - engineering plastics
We offer pressed sheets made of polystyrene with thicknesses of up to 120 mm, free of blowholes and low stress, due to the production process, as well as blanks and shaped parts (milled parts, turned parts). One advantage of these large sheet thicknesses of up to 120 mm is that it is not necessary to glue together many thin extruded polystyrene sheets to form a thick sheet, as is sometimes the case, in order to achieve the desired thickness for the component.

Standard colours of polystyrene semi-finished products are white, grey and black. Special colours are possible from approx. 2,000 - 3,000 kg with corresponding minimum quantities.
