Plunger pumps can be metered. In eccentric screw pumps, the flow rates are determined by the parameters of the thread. They enable almost complete emptying of the residue by means of a flat end with the follower plate. In addition to compressed air, however, they also require electrical energy and can only build up relatively low pressure. Special designs prevent residual quantities from flowing back into the container during transfer. For this purpose, a movable plug is fitted in the adapter, which can be opened or closed by means of a lever. Applications The systems are used for emptying stationary and mobile containers containing neutral, highly flammable and aggressive liquids. The materials must be selected accordingly for the different media. Water and neutral liquids do not require any special materials. Stainless steel apparatus is well suited for fuels such as diesel, heating oil, hydraulic oil and mineral oil. Aggressive chemicals such as caustic solutions, acids, battery residues and compounds from the chemical and pharmaceutical industries can be pumped with polypropylene pumps. Plastic is also suitable for foodstuffs such as beer, juice or wine. The operating instructions or the operating instructions contain information on the media for which the apparatus can be used.
