Theft is defined as a crime related to the unauthorized theft or removal of items, i.e. anyone who takes a mobile phone off the shelf of an electronics store, puts it in their own pocket and leaves the store without having paid for the item in advance commits a theft.Thefts occur extremely frequently in Germany, but also in other countries, which is why they are often referred to as the most frequent crime in terms of numbers. That is why it seems extremely logical for the authorities to state that in principle only a fraction of the reported crimes dealing with illegal theft can be solved.
