Company acquisition refers to a takeover of a company by another company or by a shareholder to whom the majority of the shares of the respective company belong. A takeover of a company therefore means a complete change of management for the company concerned. This is either integrated into the buying company, or it is closed in order to eliminate competition, for example. Such a change of ownership is often associated with strong changes for the personnel.
