How it worksTransport tanks are containers used for the transport of substances such as liquids or gases. They receive the goods and protect them from external influences on their way to the destination. These can be, for example, heat, cold, shock and impact as well as impurities. In addition, the uncontrolled escape of substances into the environment must be prevented during the transport of dangerous goods. The tanks for hazardous goods are equipped with safety valves and sensors for monitoring level, pressure and temperature. They must also have clearly visible markings of the dangerous goods classes. Properties Plastic or fibreglass tanks have a relatively low dead weight. They are mechanically very robust and, depending on the equipment, largely chemically stable. In the case of plastic tanks, there are limits to the size and volume that can be accommodated. GRP - glass-fibre reinforced plastic - can be used in other applications. Stainless steel containers are food-safe and very resistant to corrosion and bacterial attack. For use in production, these containers are often equipped with fixed inlets and outlets. The cylindrical design facilitates cleaning and complete emptying of the vessels. Mobile boilers for food require a refrigeration system depending on the goods being transported. Containers for live goods as well as for fish can provide an oxygen supply to preserve the precious cargo. Among other things, they are used for transporting diesel and petrol. Heating oil and hazardous materials can also be conveniently transported in fibreglass containers. Whole tanker trucks are available for the distribution of bitumen, which keep the bitumen homogeneous and castable on the way. They bring the important raw material directly to the construction site, where it can be processed immediately.
