A carpenter, carpenter or joiner produces various pieces of furniture from wood in his workshop. He is trained as a craftsman and finally passes the journeyman's or master craftsman's examination. As a master craftsman he may open his own carpentry business, as a journeyman he may work in a carpentry business. There are more general joineries as well as more specialized companies.
