A carpenter is a craftsman who works in wood processing and construction; another expression for this skilled occupation is also carpenter, probably derived from "timbra" (German for "construction timber"). The carpenter's tasks include manufacturing, repairing and straightening roof constructions, balconies, wooden ceilings, verandas, floors, stairs and wall coverings, for example. The construction of prefabricated houses such as log houses and other wooden houses - e.g. warehouses, agricultural buildings, carports, etc. - is also possible. - is part of the carpenter's profession. It also includes cladding for thermal insulation and sound insulation as well as wood protection and moisture protection. A somewhat more special form of carpentry is the ship carpenter, who is active in shipbuilding and boat building.
