Manufacturers and processors of aluminium profiles or aluminium mouldings are regularly faced with the problem of deburring cut workpieces. ORIGINAL KEMPER-SCHLEIFSTERNE® from KEMPER-KONTAKT Gert Kemper GmbH, Wuppertal, Germany, offer an optimal, fast and inexpensive option.
Depending on the hardness and shape of the workpiece, these grinding stars are available in various diameters and grit sizes and are driven either by standard and in many cases existing hand-held grinding machines, compressed air grinders or by the stationary infinitely variable grinding machine STARMAX neo (see photo).
The selection of the optimum speed depending on the diameter is of decisive importance here, as only grinding stars operated with this speed can fully exploit their true strength, namely their high flexibility, for the benefit of the deburring process. Even strongly profiled, sawn parts are deburred within seconds without leaving visible wire hairs (often when using wire brushes) or invisible residues (often when using nylon brushes), which either have to be blown off in a separate process or may disturb or even make subsequent galvanic further processing impossible. The dimensional accuracy of the workpieces is not affected by deburring with the ORIGINAL-KEMPER-SCHLEIFSTERN®.
The grinding machine STARMAX neo can be integrated into the work flow as a stand-alone machine, whereby it can be controlled either manually or automatically with the workpiece to be deburred. The decision on this is made in each individual case on the basis of local technical possibilities. It can be equipped with grinding stars on one or both sides.
The very low investment costs compared to the rationalisation effect are negligible.
