Silicone oils as ideal media for the temperature transfer from -100°C to + 400°C LOBOTHERM and Dow SYLTHERM the new product series. Hardly any other chemical changes its physical data at different temperatures as little as silicone oils. A reason to consider the use as heat transfer medium or as cold transfer medium. Because of their favourable enthalpy and because they are not an aggressive medium, unlike distilled water, for example, they are used in ORC processes. Silicone oils are generally considered to be biologically and chemically inert and for this reason alone they have an advantage over many thermal oils or refrigerants in use.
