Brazing of thermally sensitive components with ColdBraze®
Vacuum-tight material combinations with aluminium
With the ColdBraze® process, REUTER TECHNOLOGIE GmbH offers a new type of joining technology for brazing different materials. Unlike conventional soft soldering, the ColdBraze® process directly removes oxides from the materials and cleans the surfaces. This results in homogeneous, void-free material joints. The ColdBraze® technology does not use flux. The solders used contain no lead or other heavy metals. The process is suitable for joining metals, light metals, composite materials and technical ceramics as well as magnetic and highly porous materials.
A particular strength of the process lies in the production of vacuum-tight connections between aluminium and other materials such as ceramics or stainless steel. Tests have shown that the outgassing rates of ColdBraze® brazed seams fall into ranges that can otherwise only be achieved by joining processes in a vacuum (e.g. electron beam welding, vacuum brazing). The vacuum tightness of the connections could be proven in helium leak tests down to 10-10mbar*l/s.

In the ColdBraze® process REUTER TECHNOLOGIE can process assemblies up to 3,500 mm x 400 mm. The process works in the temperature range up to 260°C. The following material combinations have already been realised:
