Founded by my grandfather in 1946, our family-run company has been continually developing ever since in line with the market requirements – from a spare parts manufacturer for the mining industry to an internationally renowned specialist in power transmission engineering.
Today, we develop and produce torsionally flexible couplings at a high level of vertical integration under the REICH-KUPPLUNGEN brand. These products are predominantly used for combustion engines in stationary and mobile applications – for example in power generation plants, in construction machinery, in commercial vehicles, in railway engineering, and in the shipbuilding industry.
Continual progress is ensured through the work of our highly qualified and reliable employees. By applying cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, we are coming up with sophisticated coupling solutions at our parent company in Bochum. These are rooted on the experience that we have collected over all these years with the most various elastomer materials. Our own worldwide sales network has been significantly expanded in the recent years and serves as a basis for the global and sustainable success of the REICH-KUPPLUNGEN brand.

The History
abp was founded in 1999 by Wilhelm Ploetz and Bernd Bäuerle in St. Georgen in the Black Forest. Thanks to its profound technical knowledge and excellent sales skills, the young company received the "Founder Champion" award at national level in May 2000. And the Black Forest success story continues: abp today has its headquarters in the Technology Center in St. Georgen, employs more than 20 people and is proud of an international and constantly growing customer base. In the meantime the founding members have retired. The company is now managed by Mrs. Barbara Ploetz and Mr. Werner Bösinger.

We primarily produce turned parts, milled parts, ground parts, parts with tooths systems, welded assembly modules, pre-assembled modules as well as complete machinery units or systems as ordered by the customer.
Due to our research and development section we are able to offer our customers specially tailored solutions.
A speciality of our research and development section is the calculation and design of engine parts. One of our specialties is the calculation of cam profiles for vehicle engines; plus we are able to manufacture the products developed by us.
We put special emphasis on the quality of any product developed by our company. Therefore we manage all our processes according to the requirements of the ISO standard "DIN EN ISO 9001:2000".

We are able to manufacture components in dimensions ranging from 5 mm to 20,000 mm and with a maximum unit weight of 142 tons. As we have our own development department, we can offer our customers tailor-made solutions. A specialty of our development department is the calculation and design of engine parts, in particular the calculation of cam contours on vehicle engines. We are able to manufacture the products we develop in-house. The quality of our products is very important to us. We therefore align our processes with the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001:2000. State-of-the-art measuring machines are available to ensure product quality.
