This is the fully electronic form spool taping line FBM16-500 as an innovative further development based on the taping line FBM1. It has been specially developed for the insulation of closed coils, such as formed coils in 500-1600mm length, also called "nose coils".
In addition to the belt headrests, the line is also equipped with a newly developed automatically adjustable coil support system, whereby the line is characterized by a very smooth running even at high speeds. This ensures an exact winding pattern during the taping process. The automation of the plant is realized by a 6-axis control system. After the teaching of the coil contours, the complete winding process of both legs including the pivoting of the coil is electronically controlled. All winding parameters (teach-in procedure) are entered via a display operator guidance and can be corrected at any time. A PLC in connection with a plain text display takes over all control functions. In order to ensure personal protection during the ongoing taping operation of the machine, laser protection devices are integrated in the working area of the machine. The number of limits depends on the size of the plant or can be realised several times on customer request. A wide range of accessories enables the upgrade for taping short straight and curved bars (e.g. generator bars for small generators).
