Investment Casting:Creates detailed, smooth-surface parts via a wax pattern and ceramic mold (e.g., aerospace turbine blades, medical implants).
Gravity Die Casting:Molten metal flows into a mold by gravity, suitable for medium-sized parts with moderate precision (e.g., aluminum wheels).

Fillet/Radius: Rounded internal/external corners to reduce stress concentrations and improve mold filling.
Surface Finish: Dependent on mold type (e.g., sand casting yields rough surfaces; die casting offers smooth finishes).

Casting involves pouring liquid metal into a mold. The mold is a cavity that has the shape of the desired part. After the liquid metal fills the mold cavity and then cools and solidifies, the part is formed. For example, in the production of a simple iron spoon, molten iron is poured into a spoon - shaped mold.
