Drive-in racks offer a better space efficiency compared to conventional pallet racks. This is achieved by dispensing as far as possible with the travel gears. Drive-in racks are very well suited for large quantities of identical articles, as individual intervention in the respective pallets is not possible here. There are three different types of drive-in racks:- Shelves operable on one side- Shelves operable on both sides- Shelves operable on both sides- Shelves operable on one and both sides work according to the LIFO principle (Last In, First Out). Flow racks operate according to the FIFI principle (First In, First Out). Guide rails mounted on the floor protect the racks.The use of drive-in racks has the following advantages:- The aisles between the racks are eliminated.- A strict control of incoming and outgoing goods is possible.- Optimum use of space (up to 85 percent is possible here) ensures maximum profitability.
