KIHEUNG KMB Series
Machine description
The KMB series are the compact and powerful KIHEUNG console milling machines. With a solid machine base in box column design and a continuous monoblock machine bed, the KMB models are among the most powerful console milling machines on the market.
The ideal machines for large-area heavy machining, maintenance or for training purposes.
Column, bed, saddle and table

• The column / stand is designed as a robust box stand construction. The generously dimensioned slideways are hardened (from model series KMB U6) and ground (from model series KMB U3).
• The monobloc bed as well as the column and table are made of quality cast iron. The large-area double rectangular guides of the saddle guarantee a very good saddle table geometry.
• The saddle is designed as a stable box construction. It's ribbed all over.
• The table moves on the wide saddle. It is ground and provided with 20 T-slots.
• All guideways are covered on the opposite sides with bi-plastic anti-friction material, "stick-slip" free movements and high positioning accuracy are thus guaranteed.

Feed system

• A high performance AC servo motor SIEMENS® provides the stepless axis feeds. The feed speed is selected on the control panel.
• Precision ball screws with preloaded double nuts in all 3 axes guarantee smooth movements, high positioning accuracy and stability.
• The guideways and ball screws are supplied by a complex lubrication system.
• All axes can be moved manually via 3 handwheels.

Universal milling head

• A HURON universal milling head system is standard equipment. Any angle in the room can be reached by continuously adjusting the 90° and 45° plane. Only high-quality components (gear wheels, bearings, etc.) are used.
• The tool clamping is hydraulic, "light" tools can be changed by a probe on the headstock. A foot switch is available for "two-handed" changing of heavy tools.
• The spindle speeds can be selected centrally on the headstock. The spindle is driven by a powerful SIEMENS® spindle motor. The precision spindle is equipped with an electromagnetic brake.
