In medical technology, for example, polyurethane is highly valued for its antithrombogenic properties. This is particularly important because no platelets are deposited on the PU and therefore no clots can form. A special feature of polyurethane is its bio-degradability. It decomposes itself so that many operations could be avoided in the future.
