Offset printing machines are used for the practice and application of the special flat printing process which transfers the image to the actual printing medium by means of selective moistening of image structures by printing inks and offset moistening agent and the subsequent transfer of the image to a cylinder made of rubber, which in turn transfers the image to the actual printing medium. These can be paper, foil, metal, cardboard and others. The system of intermediate transfer of the printed image gave the process the name offset. This is an indirect printing process. The areas to be printed on the printing plate are lipophilic and absorb the moisture of the ink wetting of the plate. The areas not intended for printing, on the other hand, are hydrophilic and only accept water. The transfer of the materials, printing ink and offset dampening solution is carried out by rubber rollers of the so-called inking unit. The fabric to be printed is also moistened in some cases to ensure better adhesion of the ink particles.
