Separation Process - Manufacturers, Traders & Suppliers

Separation Process
In the service of the environment In order to be able to feed collected waste to waste processing, the mixed fractions from the various waste collections, e.g. residual waste, yellow sack or recycling bin, must be separated into individual different material streams. Only in this way is it possible to recycle recyclable materials and to dispose of the otherwise unusable waste in landfills or incinerators. The separation processes developed for this purpose make use of various properties of the waste, such as density, size or magnetic properties. Before solid waste is separated, the mixed fractions are usually first comminuted and equalized before being fed to the plant via a conveyor belt. The actual separation then takes place in several steps and fractions. Air classifiers separate light and heavy components by means of targeted air pulses from opto-electronically controlled nozzles or by permanent air flows. Different drop distances are used as well as magnetic separators to separate heavy fractions and magnetic metals from the waste. Simple screen designs to separate waste of different sizes are used and complicated cryogenic plants in which liquid waste, such as emulsion paints, are first frozen with liquid nitrogen and then separated from their cold embrittled packaging.Other plants for liquid waste or dust-laden exhaust air use separation processes such as filtering or separation into cyclones.
