Engine Motion Work
Motor movements are drives for tower clocks, town hall clocks, churches, high-rise buildings, tower structures; they are used for the direct drive of the hands where one or more dials are present. They are available in single and central drives. Due to the precision of the radio master clocks, individual drives are generally used today so that the exact time of the master clock can be transferred exactly to the hands. In addition to standard motorized movements for dial diameters up to 130, 250, 400 and 600 cm, there are special drives, such as for the world's largest watch with a dial diameter of 43m and a weight of 21 tons for the world record watch.Motorized movement drives up to 130cm have a weight of approx. 5 kg, up to 250cm of approx. 12 kg, up to 400cm of approx. 30 kg and up to 600cm of approx. 35 kg. (These statements are not to be generalized and only apply to very stable drives, with other suppliers they can be much lighter because thinner shafts and plastic gears are used).Actuators can be equipped so that the hands are illuminated. The pointer lighting can traditionally be adapted to the conditions of the national customs or the lighting can be done with high-voltage tubes or economical LEDs. The mechanical and pointer effects of weather and environmental influences such as wind forces, heat, cold, humidity or icing are protected by solid structural housings. Weather-resistant protective covers are used, and structural and climatic conditions and customer requirements are also taken into account.Actuators are equipped in various designs, e.g. with 230V helical geared motors, which have different sizes depending on the dial diameter. The drives for illuminated dials and hands can be equipped with all power transmission options, including drives for astronomical clocks with 6 or more interlocking shafts. With motor movements not only the time can be displayed analog, but also the temperature, wind speed and air pressure can be displayed analog in large diameters. Thanks to the new technologies, the drives can now also be used for works of art, with conventional watch divisions and dials with non-proportional numerical arrangements. Drives with twenty-four-hour displays or reverse drives are also available in production. (This is also a speciality of Perrot)Due to the manifold requirements for motorized movements, the drives run in all climatic zones of the world, with temperatures up to 60°C and an air humidity of up to 90% in the Arab desert regions or South America or in arctic regions at temperatures down to -50°C.Motorzeigerwerke von Perrot GmbH & Co.KG Turmuhren und Läuteanlagen, www.tower-clock.comThe largest drive ever built comes from Perrot, the traditional Calw company and drives the hands for the world's largest watch in Mecca, which has a diameter of 43m. While a drive up to 130cm has a weight of approx. 5 kg, the drive for the world record watch weighs 21 tons. All power transmission options are made possible by the over 150-year-old manufacturer of tower clocks, bell systems, glockenspiels and special clocks.
