DIN 69002 short spindles are mainly used in single- or multi-spindle machining units. Short spindle heads are suitable for standardised and commercially non-standardised tools, preferably with planar abutment.
Short spindles are suitable for the use of high performance tools without using tool guides, in particular for accurate jobs. Short spindles made by HELLMERICH meet all requirements listed in the standards specification sheet in terms of precision and mechanical values.
The excellent quality required for high-tech applications is guaranteed through extensive tests and inspections as part of the quality assurance. As extremely high performances are required from short spindles during production, we recommend to replace the complete spinde in case of the service of a MSH. Customers having the necessary facilities and resources may replace complete short spindles available on our stock by themself.

The trapezoidal screw spindles are designed and supplied as a complete installation kit with one or more fitted nuts as standard and according to customer requirements. Material, use, ensuring of lubrication and adjustment of the clearance created during operation are subject to the respective design habits of the customers and are not solved by the manufacturer. The manufacturer is only available for advice.

For the production of precision ball screws, steels of the quality ČSN 14 260, CF53 or 42CrMo4 (shafts) and 14 109 or 14 209 (nuts) are used. The nuts and the threaded part of the spindle are case-hardened and reach a hardness of 58-60 HRC. The core and non-hardened parts of the shaft have a minimum strength of Rm = 650 MPa.
