The latest edition of DIN EN 1563 contains a new material group: solid solution strengthened ferritic cast iron, in short - silicon cast iron. Another variant of this material is described in a new VdTÜV material sheet.
Düker was significantly involved in the positioning of the new material in the market and already manufactures it in series.

When changing over to the new material, previous model equipment can be taken over without any changes. Due to the fully ferritic composition, heat treatments previously required can be saved. Even greater savings are possible if the new material enables new models with lower wall thicknesses (lightweight construction) to be used.
