Membrane presses are used to form and glue moulded parts or to coat them with foils, veneers, etc. It is also used for coating profiled surfaces. In furniture and furnishing construction, where curved forms in all variations and made of various materials are in demand, are therefore also the main areas of application. For example, curves and profiles of furniture are veneered with membrane presses.The pressing device is built on a stable, torsion-free steel frame. It consists of a covering table, pressing frame, module for pressure generation, a control unit as well as the cover (pressing plate) incl. the membrane and possibly a heater. The highly elastic membrane, usually made of rubber or silicone, is the heart of the machine. It can coat the workpieces to be pressed skin-tight.There are basically two methods for applying pressure: On the one hand, the pneumatically or hydraulically generated pressing pressure acts evenly on the workpieces via the diaphragm. In the other, the vacuum pressing process, a vacuum pump creates a vacuum between the diaphragm and the coating table.
