PE foam, versatile and good: PE foam as sheets, moulded parts or blocks
As a packaging solution, polyethylene in the form of PE foam is mainly used when sensitive shipping goods have to be protected from external influences. PE foam in the form of sheets, blocks or films protects electronic devices, for example, from damage in transit, since polyethylene not only absorbs energy but also has a shock-absorbing effect. It is also the ideal packaging solution for climate-sensitive goods, as it is hardly permeable to water, and its rigidity also protects against shifting and scratching of the shipped goods inside the packaging. Polyethylene is usually processed into moulded parts that are precisely adapted to the goods to be protected.

Polyethylene (short form: PE, PE-HD, PE-LD, PE HMW, PE UHMW, PE 1000, PE 500, PE 300, RCH 1000 and others) is a very easy to process technical plastic (thermoplastic) and has with approx. 0.95 g/cm³ the second lowest weight of all technical plastics and thus offers a very interesting price basis. The moisture absorption of standard polyethylene is 0.0%, the modulus of elasticity is low at 800 N/mm², but the material is a very popular material in tank construction due to its high resistance to alkalis and acids and simple plastic processing (cutting, milling, turning, water jet cutting, welding), Plant engineering and ventilation construction on the one hand (PE HD), on the other hand material number 1 for technical plastic parts in mechanical engineering which are subject to wear and abrasion (PE UHMW), as well as linings for bulk material containers, and in the food sector as cutting boards or moulds for food (PE HMW or PE HD).

We offer pressed sheets made of polyethylene with thicknesses up to 280 mm, free of blowholes and low stress, due to the production process, as well as blanks and moulded parts / technical plastic parts (milled parts, turned parts) made of polyethylene sheets or round bars. In contrast to extrusion sheets, pressed sheets are less stressed and better suited for machining, but have a price disadvantage compared to extrusion sheets due to the more complex manufacturing process. PE UHMW is only available as pressed plate or round bar.
Delivery quantities of these polyethylene semi-finished products are as pressed sheets also single pieces, in the field of polyethylene extrusion sheets at least 10 - 20 sheets per order. Standard colours Polyethylene semi-finished products are available as extrusion sheet natural & black, as press plate natural, green & black, but special colours are possible from corresponding minimum quantities of 1.000 - 2.000 kg. Polyethylene plastic sheets are characterised by a high degree of variation possibilities: in addition to some standard special settings such as polyethylene UHMW, polyethylene HMW, polyethylene HD, special settings such as polyethylene electrically conductive, polyethylene antistatic, polyethylene UV resistant, polyethylene radiation absorbing, PE glass fibre reinforced and much more are possible.
