WIG welding (tungsten inert gas welding) is an arc welding process that produces even and clean connections. During the welding process, an arc burns between a non-melting tungsten electrode and the workpiece to be melted. By using shielding gas such as helium or argon, the tungsten electrode at the tip of the welding torch is protected from oxidation gun and does not burn, it stabilizes and cools the arc. In low-reaction TIG gas shielded arc welding, the gas has the task of producing a protective bell. This prevents pores from forming during TIG welding. During TIG welding, the torch is connected via the negative pole and the ground via the positive pole. This is what makes the TIG welding process possible. Unlike MAG welding, no wire feeder is required for WIG welding , for this the welding filler metal is adjusted manually by means of a welding rod. TIG welding machine uses two types of welding current sources: One direct current for welding steel or chrome-nickel. On the other hand, alternating current for welding aluminium.
