A drink is a liquid that is suitable for drinking. There are countless different types of drinks, so there is something for every taste. A distinction is made between alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The purchase of most alcohol in beverages is only permitted in Germany at the age of 18. The most commonly used drink is the simple water, which many Germans drink in the form of mineral water. Everyone should drink about 2-3 litres of water daily to provide the body with the necessary fluids and minerals. However, many people also like to drink juices in different varieties. The classic orange juices, apple juices and grape juices are particularly popular. But modern varieties such as cherry banana juices and passion fruit juices are also very popular. Juices are often mixed as spritzer with mineral water or served as an alcoholic drink with vodka, rum or similar. Cold drinks such as cola and lemonade are particularly popular in summer because they have a refreshing effect. However, these drinks contain a lot of sugar, so they should not be used as a water substitute. In winter, hot drinks such as cocoa in milk are very popular because they spread an inner warmth. Glow wines, which are usually sold at Christmas markets and spread Christmas spirit by the great smell, are particularly in demand.
