The profiled sheet is a component formed from sheet steel and mostly coated with plastic, which is used for the construction of light equipment housings and especially for the roofing of carports, terraces or sheds. Its base material is usually sheet steel, but aluminium can also be used for this purpose, for example. The profiled sheet formed from sheet steel is galvanised and covered with a layer of plastic. This plastic layer is colour-independent, so it can be completely adapted to customer requirements.The production of these profiled sheets is carried out by the cold pressing process. A steel sheet previously cut from length and width is formed into the desired shape in a forming press. Two basic forms are to be distinguished here. On the one hand and most often produced is the trapezoidal sheet metal. These sheets can be used not only for roofing, but also for entire summer houses. The second form is the pan plate. This shape is used exclusively as a roof surface. Both forms are very light and can therefore be easily processed. A roof that has been professionally covered with profiled sheets is much more durable than a conventional roofing material. Profiled sheets are also used as a basic framework for prefabricated house elements. They serve as a kind of casing and outer shell. These precast elements are often filled with a high-strength and very well insulating foam and are then used as ceiling tiles or as a base plate for house construction.
