Terrestrial Heat - Manufacturers, Traders & Suppliers

Terrestrial Heat
Geothermal heat, also called geothermal energy, is stored heat in the earth's crust. This energy can be extracted from the earth and used and is one of the renewable energies. Examples include heating/cooling with heat pumps or the generation of electricity. Most of the geothermal energy comes from the formation of the earth (continental displacements and volcanic activities) and from radioactive decay of long-lived isotopes in the earth's crust. Furthermore, solar radiation contributes to small parts of the geothermal energy. Due to good geological conditions, such as in volcanic areas, geothermal anomalies occur and geothermal heat can reach several hundred degrees Celsius. In technology, such anomalies are referred to as high enthalpy deposits and are used in power generation. The superheated steam is fed via pipes to a steam turbine. Through its rotation, this drives a generator that generates electricity. Geothermal energy is regarded as an energy source that can be used in the long term. Theoretically, the presence of heat in the first 3 kilometres of the earth's crust could supply the entire world population with energy for more than 100,000 years. The geothermal resources could be used on an industrial scale in drying plants, as this form of energy is expensive to produce. The heating of rooms is made possible by heat pump heating and is increasingly being used in new buildings.
