Description

Induction can save costs in bending and forging for many reasons. Induction forging heating systems can be easily automated and integrated into series production. They require little space compared to gas-heated furnaces and guarantee cost-effective energy consumption.
In addition, induction heating processes produce significantly less scale on the surface of the components (less than 0.5%). On the one hand, this is an economic advantage, as less scale is introduced into the forming dies, giving them a longer service life. On the other hand, there is a resource advantage as no material is heated unnecessarily. The uniform ingot temperature and uniform microstructure also result in better forming and fewer rejects.
As induction systems can simply be switched off during production interruptions, there is no unnecessary heating and therefore no overheating. Induction forging block heating systems do not require any warm-up times. And since there are no combustion residues, the environment is also less polluted.
Last but not least, the extremely high possible cycle times can be mentioned, as the heating speed during induction is only limited to a very limited extent by the thermal conductivity of the metal.

Technical data

You can find detailed information on our individual products here:

https://www.himmelwerk.com/produkte/

Our standard portfolio covers operating frequencies from 4 kHz to 3,000 kHz and power ratings between one kilowatt and 250 kW. On request, we can also develop customized solutions for systems outside our core portfolio.

The size of our devices ranges from handy table-top units to cabinet systems weighing several hundred kilos.

All our inverters are water-cooled.

Areas of application

You name it, we did it. Our systems are used in almost all industrial heating processes in the manufacturing industries.

Our systems can be found at suppliers to the automotive industry, in the aerospace industry, in battery factories, at silicon crystal growers, in mines and mines (melting samples), in glassworks at medical companies and in the defense industry.

Induction is used for hardening, soldering, forming, shrinking and unshrinking, melting, plasma generation, drying and sealing, soft annealing and baking baked goods, popping popcorn and pre-grilling burger patties. Induction is used to detect material weaknesses in metal products and simulate ageing processes.

You name it, we did it!

Induction Bending Machines
Induction bending machines for the hot forming process of tubes Induction bending machines are forming machines for the hot forming process. These bending machines are ideal for bending pipes (pipe bending machine) with large diameters. An alternating magnetic field is generated with the aid of an alternating current coil (the inductor). This alternating field is used to heat and anneal the material. The workpiece to be bent is then formed with the aid of a mechanical or hydraulic bending device. With this bending technology, the smallest radii can be bent, among other things.
