The process of bending
bending is the technical term for bending sheet metal with the help of forming machine tools and the planned deformation of high-quality metals (for example: Steel, aluminium, copper, zinc or stainless steel sheet) in thicknesses from 0.5mm to over 8mm.

The metal is pressed through a punch from above into a die placed underneath until it has reached the correct bending angle. The pressure, the density of the material and the thickness of the sheet metal is previously set by the operator.

Bending, also called countersinking presses, is possible up to a bending angle of 180°.
From 180° one speaks of flanging or folding.

In today's manufacturing industry pressbrakes are indispensable because they produce very precise bends quickly and easily in large quantities.
Typical products that are manufactured are for example: Various housings, office furniture, electrical cabinets, cassettes, garden tables, car body parts, etc.

Other forms of modern industrial folding are divided into the following processes: Swivel bending with the help of bending machines with a swiveling device, roll bending and also die bending.
