The actual purpose of a coalescence separator is the separation of so-called light liquids such as gasoline, diesel or engine oil from waste water. The coalescence separator enables even the smallest oil droplets to be extracted from the water. With conventional oil separators, for example, gasoline rises to the top due to its lower specific density and collects there.
